A brief history of this Free Video Footage. I was cleaning my mac when I bumped into some old video footage taken for a compositing project. Most of the video footage was shoot for a Day to Night color conversion so it’s not so beautiful as is. Instead It can fit perfectly in a composited VFX scene. I use it in a Fantasy/Mystery opening title sequence and it looks great. Obviously you can use it for whatever you want!
Just before trashing the whole thing I release it as free video footage under a super-friendly license (attached to the files). Summarizing: no-attribution; modifications and commercial use allowed; reselling, redistributing, archiving and direct linking not allowed.
All the files are 24 seconds long. 12 Seconds for the graded version and other 12 for the original version. The exception to the rule is a 36 seconds long video, the MVI_9032, which has 2 graded versions and the original.
Video: 1920×1080, 29.97fps, Progressive, h264 (.mp4);
BitRate: VBR, 2pass, Target 24.00 Mbps, Max 32.00 Mbps
A mention goes to VideoCopilot for the Day4Night Color Presets, a good starting point for this type of color conversion in AE.
If you like it like it! Trap of the 21st century.
